Shelter novel update

I got an email from Amazon today about my order for the book adaptation of Shelter:

We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on June 20 2010 (Order#):

Caleb McCarthy, Jonah Markowitz "Shelter: A Novel"
Estimated arrival date: August 24 2010 - November 08 2010

 

I know they've changed the date before I placed my order, but an update is better than an outright cancellation.

ETA: I've looked at the publisher site, which still lists the book for order here, but if you click to order, it says it's "...not currently available. Please contact us for availability of this item."

I'm thinking there's some sort of problem with the publisher. Not sure exactly what, but we can try emailing publisher@alyson.com to see if we can get more info and/or show our support for the book to be published.

I am afraid to get my hopes up this time. I would not be surprised to get another email on November 9 saying it's been postponed until June 2011.

i wish there was more evidence that the book is legit. I was a summary, coverpage, (we know the pages amount at least).. I'd love for it to be 1,ooo pages or a 2 book deal. Add color pictures of the boys in the book with never b4 seen pics. I hope for no repeat of the movie, just written in words. I hope for a short beginning of how they became a couple and the rest of the book about the after life/movie.

I just want a book. Give it to us please!

The publisher is legit; they've published a lot of well-known books. I've added more info to my original post.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a novelization of the movie. In most cases, they do add more background details, especially the POVs of the characters, and sometimes a few pages of pictures.
