I got an email from Amazon today about my order for the book adaptation of Shelter:
I know they've changed the date before I placed my order, but an update is better than an outright cancellation.
ETA: I've looked at the publisher site, which still lists the book for order here, but if you click to order, it says it's "...not currently available. Please contact us for availability of this item."
I'm thinking there's some sort of problem with the publisher. Not sure exactly what, but we can try emailing publisher@alyson.com to see if we can get more info and/or show our support for the book to be published.
We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on June 20 2010 (Order#):
Caleb McCarthy, Jonah Markowitz "Shelter: A Novel"
Estimated arrival date: August 24 2010 - November 08 2010

Date: 2010-07-06 08:49 pm (UTC)I'm pretty sure it's going to be a novelization of the movie. In most cases, they do add more background details, especially the POVs of the characters, and sometimes a few pages of pictures.
