Hello;
I have a question regarding a couple of scenes.
So, in the film Zach is wearing a white "wifebeater" (I hate that term, but will use it here as most people recognize that better than the british version "vest" or the feminine version "tank top") along with his comfy hoodie, on the day he and Shaun first kiss:

But the morning after, Zach is wearing his jacket and red shirt and hoodie:

And on the day he wears his red shirt and hoodie....

...he drives home the next morning in his "wifebeater":

Is it safe to say the filmmakers decided to switch these scenes around, due to their tone? Or does anyone know? I just noticed this inconsistency and thought I'd ask what others thought.

Date: 2008-08-04 01:16 pm (UTC)I've always wondered why they decided to break up that first day of scenes, where we're getting to know Zach, and thought that perhaps they felt that they hadn't made it clear enough that Zach was the uncle (before he and Shaun kissed), so moved that whole conversation up. It seems totally out of place, and it really frustrates me. *g*
But yeah, they've got a bunch of scenes they move around, like the ones of Zach sitting on the wall (or bale of hay, I can't really tell *g*) looking out over the water. I'm guessing they go back and say, hmm, we need something here to explain/show what's going on in Zach's head...
What I will suggest for the last one you mention is that it's possible Zach was wearing the wife-beater beneath the red shirt, as he wears the wife-beater in several scenes and with several different outfits. But that's just me trying to make the scene fit the way it should. *g*
I'm sure they never thought that we were going to obsess about this movie this much. *g*
On another, related topic, it's always bothered me when Shaun says that he'll be around for a while, he was supposed to go to Barcelona with a friend but he doesn't have any money, when earlier he'd said that he'd only be there for 2 weeks until the lease on his apartment started. I'm always like, huh?!! *g*

Date: 2008-08-04 01:28 pm (UTC)Perhaps one day/week they filmed the actors wearing one particular outfit in order to cut down on production time?
Or maybe they re-wrote some scenes and just happened to use the scenes that turned out the best in the final cut.
