Hello;

I have a question regarding a couple of scenes.

So, in the film Zach is wearing a white "wifebeater" (I hate that term, but will use it here as most people recognize that better than the british version "vest" or the feminine version "tank top") along with his comfy hoodie, on the day he and Shaun first kiss:

But the morning after, Zach is wearing his jacket and red shirt and hoodie:

And on the day he wears his red shirt and hoodie....

...he drives home the next morning in his "wifebeater":

Is it safe to say the filmmakers decided to switch these scenes around, due to their tone? Or does anyone know? I just noticed this inconsistency and thought I'd ask what others thought.

Hmm that's a really good point. I hadn't noticed, to be honest. I think that it really would have changed the tone of the two events if the scenes HAD been switched, and Zach's anger towards Shaun after their first kiss wouldn't have made much sense. Maybe it was just an unintentional mistake by the film makers- they just gave him the wrong clothes to wear or something.

I've noticed some switching of scenes, also. The one that really bugs me is the one where he's wearing the red shirt and hoodie in the middle of the first day of scenes. You know, Zach skateboarding, then going to work, then going surfing, then painting (and it's getting darker and darker); then suddenly it's daytime and he's in the red shirt and hoodie at the grocery store waiting with Cody for Jeanne to get done, where they have the 'daddy' talk; then it's back to the house (and the first day) and he's back in his first day clothes, stuck babysitting Cody, calling Tori, taking of Cody's shoes, yelling at Jeanne for being loud, etc.

I've always wondered why they decided to break up that first day of scenes, where we're getting to know Zach, and thought that perhaps they felt that they hadn't made it clear enough that Zach was the uncle (before he and Shaun kissed), so moved that whole conversation up. It seems totally out of place, and it really frustrates me. *g*

But yeah, they've got a bunch of scenes they move around, like the ones of Zach sitting on the wall (or bale of hay, I can't really tell *g*) looking out over the water. I'm guessing they go back and say, hmm, we need something here to explain/show what's going on in Zach's head...

What I will suggest for the last one you mention is that it's possible Zach was wearing the wife-beater beneath the red shirt, as he wears the wife-beater in several scenes and with several different outfits. But that's just me trying to make the scene fit the way it should. *g*

I'm sure they never thought that we were going to obsess about this movie this much. *g*

On another, related topic, it's always bothered me when Shaun says that he'll be around for a while, he was supposed to go to Barcelona with a friend but he doesn't have any money, when earlier he'd said that he'd only be there for 2 weeks until the lease on his apartment started. I'm always like, huh?!! *g*

I kind of think the inconsistencies in Shaun's story about why he's sticking around are just him trying to make up excuses to spend more time with Zach. Maybe he could've left after two weeks, but he wants a reason to stay.

After the story about coming home after his break up to wait for the lease on his new apartment to start, the whole Barcelona thing just came out of nowhere. I was like, huh?

Yeah, it's sort of random. Maybe Jonah Markowitz really wanted them to talk about Europe, so he threw that in there to give them an opportunity to segue awkwardly into it. *shrugs*

Yeah we have had these discussions before. I do believe that a lot of the wardrobe malfunctions were due to time constraints and no one taking a picture to continue on with the scene. Remember it was all filmed in 13 or 14 days. It bothered me but I just try to put it out of my head. I did not notice it the first time I watched so I blame myself for watching it over 50 times already.

*goes to the store to purchase a life*
