First off, a big thank you to everyone who voted in my porny poll (lol) and commented about it. It was very helpful, and a fun thread if I do say so myself.

*squishes fandom*

Second- I must confess I'm way behind on my Shelter viewing, since I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen it....*hangs head in shame*

So I have to say this was the first night I realized how much different Shaun's hair is in the very last playing-on-the-beach-with-Zach-and-Cody scene.....before I'd just assumed it was just a day or so in the future from the previous scene but it's obviously not. I haven't listened to the commentary yet so I don't know if it's remarked upon there either. But how much time do you guys think passed between the 2 scenes? And why was I too stupid not to see the difference? lol

And why oh why is the song Remember to Forget NOT on the soundtrack? It's playing during the credits and it's so lovely and I haven't been able to find it anywhere around for d/l'ing.....*sobs* Shane Mack has such a lovely voice.....

Can anyone help me out with the song? Any advice on where to find it?

Thanks guys!

Hey
Unfortunately, the website that I got it from only will allow US users to download.... it was snocap.com This is what they say:

"Q: I live outside the USA, can I still sign-up for a SNOCAP account?
A: Today, only sound recording copyright owners who are residents of the United States can use SNOCAP's Digital Registry. To apply for a SNOCAP account, go to http://www.snocap.com/join/. If you currently reside out of the United States or do not have a US Social Security Number, just hold on. We are working hard everyday to offer this service for you, so stay tuned."

But if you want the songs I am more than happy to send them to you. Just PM me with your email address and I will send them. Besides, if I send it to you, you dont have to pay for it, so why not save a couple bucks. LOL :)

The part at the beach was added months after the film was completed.

The part when Zach/Sean/Cody were standing in the driveway was supposed to be the end, but they called back the actors to add that last little part in.

Brad was working on a another film at the time, so he couldn't cut his hair.

When i think about that scene and the obvious differences, from a fan fiction point of view; i see it as about two months later, when they're living with Shaun.

I thought it was a great way to wrap up the movie with the opening song, also playing at the end.

Like, Zach's come full circle now. You know?

Just my thoughts. :)

Hm, sorry to nit-pick, but I don't know if I'd say he's come full circle. To me, that would imply that he hasn't made any progress, but he has. He has grown, and changed, and discovered how to be true to himself. He's in a much better place than he was at the start of the film.

But, um, that said? It isn't the same song playing at the beginning and the end. They're similar, but they are two different songs!

I agree, though, that seeing them together as a family like that really was a great way to wrap up the film.

I meant he's come full circle in the sense of family. Fist he had a family, then his family was falling apart, now he has a new family.

Oh yeah, they are two different songs. That's what i get for responding at 6:00 a.m.

You know that icon you're using..Brad said he wore the hat so no one could see how much his hair changed there too (they may have had to reshoot or add a few things)

And that end, I don't know how long the time had passed in real life between the end of the movie and when they shot it, I'm guessing for the sake of time elapsing in the movie, it was about 6 months at most.

Yeah, about 2-6 months, I guess. Maybe if Brad had been able to cut his hair, they would have tried to give the impression that only a few days had passed between that scene and the scene in the driveway, but I like this better. You get the impression that some time has passed, that they're all happy together, that they're a family.

Also, there's a dog playing with them for part of the scene. What do we think about the dog? It could be the dog of someone else on the beach, joining their fun for part of the time. Or, it could Zach, Shaun, and Cody's dog. I'm writing a fic a few months into the future, and I haven't decided whether or not to give them a dog. (Sorry, dragontatt, this thread was meant for your questions! But maybe this will help you too:))
