So the website is SquareHippies and the tagline says it all:

worksafe shirtlessness

*grins*

The article about our lovely boys is here...

I know we've seen them all before but it's still nice to pimp out websites so more and more people realize how wonderful Shelter is, right??

You may notice that there are fewer links in the Links section, which is because Shelter_Diner is no longer a paid account. I've moved all of the resource links, including articles, interviews, etc, to this post, which will be linked from the main page. All new resources will be added to this post, as well as tagged with the 'resource' tag.

Hi guys! Your lovely Brad Rowe fanatic is back...lol.

So I know I've pimped out miptalk before. If you don't remember, it's a podcast by Brad Rowe and Noam Dromi- their tagline is conversations with the world's most interesting people.

It's a fascinating thing to listen to if you like that kind of thing. I usually don't but I find it fascinating cause I'm fascinated by Brad, so it all works out-lol.

Last ep, before the guys got onto the interview, Noam was talking with Brad about all the places he'd been lately...of course one of those places was NYC, for the GLAAD awards!!

The following is my extremely poor attempt to transcribe the 4 or 5 minutes of conversation that had to do directly with Shelter.

I do highly recommend listening to at least this episode if you are a Brad Rowe fan, cause there's lots about him in this one. The actual 'interview' in this case is a replay of an old podcast done by Larry Hertzog, famous TV writer/producer of tons of different shows (SeaQuest DSV, La Femme Nikita, Nowhere Man, Hart to Hart, Hardcastle and McCormick, Profiler...) In this old podcast (which he did a couple years before he died) he interviewed Brad Rowe about being an actor, how to get into show biz, all that stuff.

Anyway, like I said this is an extremely bad transcript but I thought you might like it.

And go listen to miptalk!

So Noam says... )

(I stopped there cause they go on to talk about Noam's movie- which actually sounds pretty interesting too- and I was tired of typing...)

Please ignore any typos...

Here's an article I just found, it might help you guys get to know your favorite guy a little better...

There was some mumbling and a name or two that escaped me but here's the filmed script for Shelter.  You would think that by now it wouldn't get to me but it still does.  Jonah Markowitz crafted such an awesome script.  It's one of those rare stories where it would be a shame to leave anything out and ultimately you only want more.  I tried to keep the commentary to a bare minimum but I slipped here and there.  So good!

Feel free to use and make corrections as you please as long as you credit the talent involved.  They sure deserve it.

Thanks to my daily Brad Rowe-google alert, I bring this video interview with Jonah Markowitz about the making of Shelter...it's short but nice.

Shelter has reached out to a lot of people who have little or no experience with LJ and so I hope I can be of some help with using a cut tag. Usually if a post is more than a couple of paragraphs long a cut tag is used since a lot of people on LJ have 50, 100 or more people on their friends lists and long posts can seem overwhelming to keep scrolling through. I hope [livejournal.com profile] rendrag45 doesn't mind if I use her story as an example.

JD The Producer behind Shelter has a blog. She fills it with lots of LGBT info, and she also pimps Shelter there quite often. I ended up subscribing to it.
Today she has a nice  behind the scenes post. It includes some wonderful pics (but not savable :( ) , 7 mins from the featurette that is on the DVD and a little bit of a write up on how they got the movie together.

I had figured that Brad Rowe was not the first choice for Shaun, it was nice to have it confirmed. I have a hard time thinking of who else could have played the role, so I am curious who backed out at the last minute.

I came across a couple articles thanks to the good people at EnnisJack.com. The first one is from Out.com and features first and foremost a breathtaking photo of Trevor Wright and Brad Rowe that I like to think of as Zach and Shaun's wedding photo. Love all the points of contact Trevor makes - foot, knee, elbow (!) - despite the fact that Brad has his back to him. I also love Trevor's quote at the end in regards to acting in the intimate scenes: “I saw his eyes, and they were Brad’s, and that was that.” Sweet ... The second article is a somewhat snotty review from Slant Magazine of the DVD but the good news is that it does have some extras such as a commentary track with Jonah Markowitz, Trevor Wright and a chatty Brad Rowe.

The links for all of the above have been added to the Link list. Enjoy!

ETA: Out.com has removed the pictured I referred to so I'm going to post it here. It's too sweet to keep hidden away.

I'm hoping that this comm can become a nice centralized place for all things Shelter so I'm adding reviews, articles and links to images to the Links sidebar. If you have a link to something that I've missed please let me know and I'll add it.

Also, if you'd like a LARGE helping of Shelter Squee! do yourself a favor and go check out the Shelter thread at EnnisJack.com. The thread is called Shelter - Major Spoilers and at the moment it's close to 70 pages long and is filled with talk, images and a breathless exchange of ideas. I love it!
