The sun was high overhead when Shaun opened his eyes ever so slowly and stared at the empty space next to him. A couple of pillows lay haphazardly discarded from when Zach had left. Shaun reached his hand out, touching the spot where Zach had slept, now cool to the touch, before rolling over and groaning.

“Definitely too much to drink,” he grumbled. Within moments, the rest of the night's events came back to him, worrying at him. Had he gone overboard? Had it been too much? There'd always been something between him and Zach, something he'd always pushed aside. Until now. What was so different about now?

He stood up stiffly and went inside the house to find coffee and aspirin, muttering and swearing to himself about stupid mistakes and never learning as he went.
