Thanks for you feedback! About the lube, the one time I witnessed gay sex (long story involving a lot of alcohol), the guy put the lube on the other guy's butt, so that's how I assumed it was always done.
About Cody's feelings, in the movie he is the sweetest child, but the thing is, he's growing up. The kid has had a lot of changes in his life is a relatively short amount of time. First his mother leaves him. Then he has two dads who both love and adore him. At that point, he's reveling in all the attention; his life couldn't get much better. Then along comes this baby. Suddenly, Cody, who has had all the attention on him for like a year, has to share the attention. It's not just having to share the attention that's bugging him, it's also the fact that he still feels a bit insecure about his place in the family. Secretly he's afraid that Zach and Shaun are going to leave him in favor of the baby.
About Gabe, I do agree that he has some deep thoughts and profound comments. The thing is, at least in my mind, is that he's still weirded out by the fact that his brother and best friend have hooked up, so being borderline apathetic is his way of dealing with it. But in this story, he's starting to get over the weirdness. That's the thing about the t-shirts, he's trying to show that he loves and cares about them and accepts that they are a family and he supports it.
